Science-policy brief: Sustainable land use systems – the path forward to collectively achieve Land Degradation Neutrality

This publication, produced by the UNCCD and published in 2024, presents science-based evidence concerning sustainable land use systems (SLUS) and the potential of a systems approach to achieve land degradation neutrality targets, reduce inequalities, achieve social justice, improve economic viability and help achieve multiple United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs) and targets.

It aims to support countries so that they are better able to use sustainable land use systems approaches, allowing them to apply more effective management of natural resources and the environment.
