TERRASAFE desertification innovation partnerships
TERRASAFE have established five ‘desertification innovation partnerships’, one in each of our pilot areas.
By using an actor-oriented approach, these partnerships will develop an approach that could be used in other areas to build desertification resilient communities. As such, these partnerships will help to make our project more collaborative and impactful.
The desertification innovation partnerships will both contribute to our project in a consistent way and be tailored to accommodate specific contexts, for example, different desertification threats, and socio-ecological and political circumstances.
where are our pilot areas?
As shown in the interactive map, our pilot areas, and their associated partnerships, are based in Cyprus, Italy, Romania, Spain, and Tunisia.
The desertification innovation partnerships, based in each pilot area, are anticipated to include a range of people who have knowledge and expertise specifically within our pilot areas. Examples may include land managers, local policymakers and authorities, non-governmental organisations, practitioners, scientists, advocacy bodies, and representatives of living labs.
