This report, published by the European Court of Auditors in 2018, examined whether desertification risk in the EU was being effectively and efficiently addressed. The report found that while desertification and land degradation are current and growing threats in the EU, the Commission did not, at the time of writing, have a clear picture of these challenges, and the steps taken to combat desertification lacked coherence.
