Drawing attention to TERRASAFE’s work with communities to tackle desertification, her article goes on to discuss the link between soil health and water resilience – a connection that “many farmers are unaware of”.
Cyprus is home to one TERRASAFE’s pilot areas for testing innovations to tackle desertification. The region faces numerous challenges related to desertification. These include low and variable rainfall, prolonged droughts, and groundwater overexploitation and contamination.
